Welcome to the official site of Northampton Boat Club. We are a small family orientated boating enthusiasts club situated on an island in the river Nene, a little over a mile from Northampton town centre. We were formed in 1911. Last year a book was compiled chronicling the history of the club, these books are available at the clubhouse for £10 or can be ordered with a £2 post and package charge and would be interesting to all members and local historians alike.
The club can have up to 150 members and currently have a limited number of places available for new applicants with moorings available immediately.
The only qualification you need is to be a boat owner. We are a club run by the members for the members and encourage everyone to take part in our activities, although we do understand that life goes on outside the club. We have 'Work Parties' on various weekends where members are encouraged to come along and assist with maintenance around the club. You can download an application form from the Contact Us Page.
We have a large number of moorings and some hard standing, but due to our limited space we have to restrict the boat size that may be kept at the club to 50 feet. If you have a larger boat elsewhere, you are still more than welcome to become a member.
We have an active sailing club which meets on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. We also have some excellent fishing spots exclusive to club members - sshhh!!!
We welcome visitors to our club but are limited to the amount of visitor moorings we have. Please contact the club through our harbourmaster, who's details can be found on the committee page, before you wish to visit us to enquire about available space.
